Digital Samba Embedded

Dashboard and API

New Features

  • Introducing Session length, a new setting that allows team members and integrators to configure rooms with a set duration, after which the session automatically ends. A notification is sent to all participants 5 minutes before the session ends.
  • Added a new Activate HD video on join room setting, allowing team members to configure rooms so that participants stream higher quality video, by default.

  • Enhanced the dashboard with a new capability that allows team members to clone roles, helping to save time when configuring custom roles.

  • Included upvotes data in the Q&A response to GET a room's questions, in the API.
  • Enhanced the questions endpoint of our API with an additional 'votes' property, reflecting the number of votes each question has received from participants in the Q&A panel.
  • Updated the Q&A log to exclude the 'votes' param for sessions where upvoting was disabled.
  • Updated the description of the 'moderate polls' permission to include downloading poll results.
  • Made the System Check page resilient to the edge case where a user visits it with camera and/or microphone permissions blocked in the browser. Such users will receive instructions and a link to browser-specific documentation to help them manage permissions and proceed with the check.
  • Implemented rate limiting in our API to prevent server overload, ensure fair usage among multiple teams, and protect the system from abuse. When a request is throttled, the API returns a 'rate-limit' error with a 'Too many attempts' message.
  • Added a 'Back to the dashboard' link to the payment confirmation page, allowing team owners to return to the dashboard page they were on before initiating an upgrade or downgrade.
  • Standardised labels for context menus across the app.

In-Room

New Features

  • Improved recordings to capture the polls panel when there is an active poll, while keeping votes hidden.
  • Implemented a toast notification on the side of the participant who clicks ‘live answer’ in the Q&A panel, to confirm to them that they are answering live.
  • We reworded the 'Activate HD video' description to clarify that it enables other participants to see the local user in better quality.
  • Standardised the layout of the Polls panel by restyling the 'Create new poll' button and moving it to the top.
  • Normalised vertical spacing around the custom items section divider in the tile's context menu.
  • Standardised breakout rooms panel context menus by adding a header with the participant's name and icons next to each menu option.

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where the 'View details' option did not work for attendees after poll results were shared.
  • Fixed an issue where users with the 'Answer questions in Q&A' permission could not see the 'Answer live' and 'Type answer' options.
  • Fixed an issue where participants with the 'Moderate Q&A' permission but without the 'Answer questions in Q&A' permission could still see 'Answer live' and 'Type answer' options.
  • Standardised the style of the 'pin' icon tooltip, on the toolbar.
  • Fixed a bug that caused display tiles to appear distorted on large screens by correcting the aspect ratio.
